New Baker's Rack

I've been pretty busy in the last day or two, completing a major trash-to-treasure project, and I'm going to be sharing that here in the next couple of days.  But in the meantime, I'm excited to show you a new piece I've got in my living room.

Do you see it, in the back right corner of the room?   It's a new baker's rack!

I actually bought it a while ago, in a Black Friday Thanksgiving sale.  I ordered it from Overstock.com, and it arrived in the midst of the Christmas decorating season. I never got around to putting it together and setting it up.

When I ordered it, I was planning to put it out on the screened porch and decorate it with garden and bird-themed stuff, and use it as a sideboard for when we eat on the porch.

But now that it's all put together, I kind of like it in this spot in living room.  (Once we choose a paint color and get the walls painted, it won't look so crazy back behind there.)  I think I'll still go with garden and bird theme on these shelves, but add in some photo frames and whatever else strikes my mood.

The baskets really blend nicely with some other woven baskets in this room, and they also really look great with the chairs at the kitchen table.

I may end up moving it out of this corner, as I continue to find things to furnish this new home.  But for now, I think this is where it's going to be.   I'm looking forward to filling it with pretty things.

Hey, by the way, since the last time I talked about choosing paint, I've expanded the paint color options to include five different colors.  I think I have a favorite, but how about you? Which one do you like the best?  The paint will be in the living room, foyer, stairwell and upstairs hall.  Let me know if you have a favorite!

  1. You'll have so much decorating that space! I've always loved baker's racks and everyone can always use more storage.
