What I've been Pinning Lately

I've been exploring lots of new blogs lately, as I browse through all of the DIY and crafty link parties that are out there.   It's resulted in lots of new pins on my Pinterest boards.   Here are a few of the things that I'm thinking of doing in the next few months.  (Just click on the pictures to visit the original blog articles.)

The white vases with the cut branches caught my eye in this photo.  I think this look would be nice for a winter arrangement on my mantel in the living room.   Now I'm on the hunt for tall vases that can be spray painted white.

I think I'm going to give homemade laundry soap a try.   I'm all for saving money, and if this really does last for that many laundry cycles, then it would be crazy not to try it!

This bag looks so cute!  And I just bought a sewing machine, so this looks like a great, easy project to make something unique and fun.

Oh how I wish I'd seen this a year ago!!! In the garden of our former home, we had so many ornamental grasses, we could have made a hundred of these grass wreaths!!!!   Frankly I'm not sure if our current garden has any ornamental grasses at all!  The yard and garden are areas which haven't really been given much attention yet.   But this project looks doable for sure.

I have a thing for birds.  I'm not sure why exactly.  Could be because my maiden name is Bird.  But actually I don't think that's why.  I just am drawn to the form and shape of small birds, and I love the connotation of nature, springtime, and beautiful songs.   So this canvas looks easy enough to imitate - it's just silver paint, black paint, and blue paper.   Definitely a project I'd like to try.

I have a whole hedge of boxwood in my front yard, and I've already trimmed them all once since we moved into this house. I know they're going to need trimmed once or twice in the spring/summer months.  Given the amount of boxwood cuttings I can get for free, it seems a shame to let them go to waste. So I think I'll try preserving them and making some wreaths and/or topiaries out of them.

So, as always with Pinterest, the trick is finding time and energy to actually see these projects through to completion.   I've got high hopes, anyway.

How about you?  Have you got any projects in mind?  Do you store your idea list on Pinterest?  Share your thoughts in the comments, I'd love to hear from you!!!
