Some Favorite Views in the Garden

On an overcast day, with rain hanging like a thick blanket on the air, I took the camera around the yard and gardens and found lots of loveliness.

The daisies are such an easy way to bring a smile.

I know some people cut their hosta blooms, preferring to enjoy the foliage alone, I like to keep the blooms and allow the bees and hummingbirds to enjoy them too.

What a happy surprise - the peach colored dahlia is a great bridge between the orange and yellow blanket flowers and the raspberry colored monarda.

Blooms on the cucumber vine are such a pretty color of yellow.

The vinca and the lambs ears look really soft and pretty around the grey stone of the birdbath.   The black square in the birdbath is a solar-powered fountain that bubbles water to attract the birds.

I can't get enough of these daisies!!!

There are hundreds of bees of all different sizes and types in the yard, happily collecting nectar and pollen.

This one has his pollen bags almost full.

I was delighted to notice that my photo of this male bluebird caught his mate, the female bluebird, in the background.  This pair have made a nest in our birdhouse, and their babies have fledged and are happily flying around the yard and neighborhood with mom and dad.

  2. HI Daisy, thanks for stopping by! All of our hostas bloom in late June or early July, and each kind of hosta has a similar-but-different bloom, varying mostly in color. I just love them! And I too, love daisies, though I'm sure you love them more, given your name is Daisy. :-) Thank you for stopping by today, have a great week!
