Welcome to our living room at Christmas time!
The living room is the heart of our home. It's where I spend 90% of my waking hours, and I love to be surrounded by Christmas during this holiday season. So it's fully decked out and ready for the fun of the coming weeks!
I'm still working on addressing and writing the Christmas cards. My sofa is the comfiest place to do that!
I love sitting on the sofa and gazing at the tree and the fireplace. It just makes me feel happy!
Something smells good... must be the cinnamon scented pinecones under the coffee table!
Our stockings are hung on the garland this year. Normally we would use stocking hangars on the mantel shelf, but this year I had different plans for the mantel so this solution worked out well.
I had fun putting together this easy garland. I used Command hooks to hold the garland onto the mantel shelf. Ran a string of 100 lights across the garland. Then wired groups of three red and green ornaments into bunches along the garland. Easy, classic, and pretty!
I've written about the Christmas console before. It really did set the stage for the rest of the room, in terms of colors. Red, green and gold - that's my go-to traditional scheme every year. I love it!
As evening falls, the room becomes darker and that highlights the Christmas village display above the fireplace even more. I wrote another post about the village display recently. This village is so special to me because my husband and I hand-painted each piece in the first few years of our marriage, so long ago. Back when spending $19.99 on two ceramic buildings was a big expenditure!
In the evening, I love to light the candles and light the fire, and sit on the comfy sofa enjoying the lights. Definitely a favorite activity!
I hope you've enjoyed your visit here, please come back again to share more holiday spirit!
