Minty Oreo Cookie Pops

I made a quick and easy treat today, with thanks to campclem.com, where I first saw this idea.

Minty Oreo Cookie Pops

They are really tasty, cute and easy to make!

You need some Andes Mint chips, which I found in a special end cap display at my local grocery store (not in the baking aisle).

Melt them in the microwave for about 2 minutes, stirring after each 30 second interval.

Then you need some Double Stuf Oreo and some lollipop sticks.  You can get these sticks at any craft store in the cake decorating section.

Carefully push the stick into the filling of the cookies.  Sometimes the cookie cracks, but if you're gentle with it, even a cracked one will hold together and it won't be a problem.

Then just dip the cookie into the melted chocolate, let the excess drip off, and then lay the pop onto some waxed paper to dry.

If you like, you can decorate with sprinkles before the chocolate dries.

Once they have dried, you can put them into little plastic bags and tie off with a ribbon, or you could wrap in plastic wrap, or just store them in a cool, dry container. IMG_0718

One bag of chips was enough to cover one package of Double Stuf Oreos (minus two cookies which broke and had to be sacrificed to the cook).

This would be an easy treat to make with the kids as a gift for teachers, neighbors, or friends.

  1. Mmm - these look so tasty. I tried these last year and struggled with so many breaking, and then I would pop the broken ones in my mouth, then I got sick to my stomach form eating too many…and sad to say I ate many of the chocolates coated ones, too!!! You must be very strong to not gobble them up!

  3. I want to make these!!! I'm hoping I can muster up the energy to hit the stores again to get the necessary ingredients (maybe I'll get up extra early before the last minute shoppers hit!) Thank you for sharing and have a wonderful Christmas! Rosie @ The Magic Hutch
