I picked up this little live tree at the local farmer's market. It cost $15, but it was so worth it to have this pretty little tree out here. It has stayed so nice and fresh, and its green needles look great against the ornaments that we've used on it.
Unfortunately I didn't take any pictures while I was decorating it. I just put two strands of 35 crystal faceted lights on it, for a total of 70 bulbs. Usually I use the mini lights, but this time, I really like the change of pace on this tree.
I then put three faux berry garlands on. One of them was thicker and heftier than the other two, so I put it in the center of the tree, and put the thinner two garlands above and below the thicker one.
Next up was to put on a collection of bird ornaments. I have blown glass ones, and some cute little white crystally ones.
Last, I added some "wishful thinking" snowflakes to the tree.
I'm missing the possibility of snow here in NC, but I do enjoy the warmer weather and the ability to spend the afternoon out on the porch!
We put some party lights up around the ceiling of the porch, and then hung some large acrylic snowflakes in the screen windows. If I can't have real snow, at least I can pretend. ;-) The temperatures are supposed to spike up into the mid-70's this weekend, so I'm especially happy to have this pretty little place to spend an afternoon.
Here's hoping for a wonderful Christmas, even if it won't be a white one.

ReplyDeleteI love your porch! I was hoping to have a sunroom built by this Christmas, but it's still in the talking stages, lol. Your screened porch is fantastic, and I love how you decorated that tree. That's EXACTLY how I would do my sunroom tree, with birds! You're invited to my History & Home link party, each Tuesday -Friday, and have a Merry and blessed Christmas - Dawn @ We Call It Junkin.com
