Christmas in our Living Room

I'd like to share some more photos of our living room.  I had a lot of fun putting this room together.  We began on the day after Thanksgiving, purchasing the tree from the local farmer's market.

Our tree  holds so many memories, with special ornaments from across the years.  I always use hundreds of white mini lights, red and/or gold ribbons, and red and gold ball ornaments as a foundation, then we just fill in with all the ornaments we've collected over the years.

Our mantel holds our stockings that we have used for almost 20 years. This year we added a new stocking, for our son's girlfriend who has become a wonderful part of our family.

We've displayed some of our Santa figures in the niche above the fireplace.

Moving over to the other side of the room, we have put this display of holiday themed photos together on the wall.  A few years ago I saw an idea in a magazine where they framed iconic images in gold frames with red mats, and arranged them on the mantel.  We've used these frames on the mantel in years past, but I like this on the wall too.  I put some fresh holly sprigs on frames throughout the house.  Apparently this one is a little past its prime and has gotten a little droopy.

On the end table near the sofa, I have put these little birdie figurines near some pinecone trees that I made.   I think these birds are so cute!  (You'll see birds throughout my house in all seasons.)   These are one of the few purchases of new decor that I made this year.  For the most part, I just reused what I had in my previous home.

I found these two beige pillows with colorful prints at the local TJ Maxx, for the other new purchase in the room.  They fit just right with two dark red pillows that had previously been in a different room in the house.  I really like them both.

Thank you for visiting with me in our new living room.  I hope you've enjoyed your stay, and hope you'll leave a comment to say hello.

    1. Thanks Pinky! Santas are a weakness - I have lots spread throughout the house, and more in boxes that didn't make the cut this year. ;-)
